Beginner and Intermediate welcome In this 2-day workshop, Priyanka will work with you on the fundamentals of drawing and sketching in Charcoal. The focus will be mainly on the face, ears, hands to get a feel for the anatomy and refine your approach and skills. Day 1: Materials & Mark-Making and Form & Volume Vine vs. compressed charcoal, basic mark types, paper selection. Drawing simple 3D forms, shading with blending stumps. Day 2: Head drawing Head movement with perspective. draw eyes , nose and ear and mouth Priyanka Gawande earned a master's degree in computer science before choosing to build her life around painting instead — an artist by choice, not circumstance. She holds an MFA in Painting from the prestigious Academy of Art University, San Francisco, CA, and has exhibited in numerous juried shows. Her work spans still life, landscape, and an ongoing series on weathered Americana, distinguished throughout by a rare control of reflective and weathered surfaces — chrome, glass, water, rust — rendered with a precision that rewards close, unhurried looking. Born in India, she now paints from the Bay Area. Cancellation Policy
Cancellation & Refund Policy Frank Bette Class or Workshop Cancellation and Refund Policy The instructor has the option of cancelling a class or workshop that does not meet the required minimum of enrolled students three (3) days prior to the start date. All fees for cancellations may be refunded. Registered students must notify the Frank Bette Center at least five (5) full days prior to the start of a class or workshop to effectively cancel registration and be eligible for a full refund. To cancel, email classes@frankbettecenter.org and the class or workshop instructor or call the Center: 510-523-6957. Students cancelling no less than three (3) full days prior to the workshop may receive a credit for a future workshop upon approval of the instructor. Credits are valid for up to six (6) months from the date of issue. Fees for cancellations made after the class or workshop start date and no-shows are charged the full amount. No credits are issued. Frank Bette Center for the Arts reserves the right to cancel any class or workshop. Registrants are notified by phone or email and may receive a full refund or a credit towards future workshop by the same instructor.
