Class Description
Description: Find a world of fun and enrichment by learning the techniques and increase your skill and knowledge in the craft and art of making acrylic paintings. This class will explore color mixing, composition, choosing material, brushwork, and how to develop a painting. Subjects for painting will include still life, land and seascapes, abstract, student’s choice and much more. Materials List: Choosing paints, canvas and brushes will be discussed in the first class. The first class will involve mixing paint. Materials for the first lesson will require 2 shades each of red, and blue, yellow ochre, one other shade of yellow, mars or carbon black, burnt sienna and titanium white. These are a basic set of paints. 11 x 14 canvas board for a surface, a plastic tray or palette for mixing, a palette knife, rag or paper towel for wiping, a cup for water. Brushes for the first lesson will be a 1/2 ‘ and 1/4” flat and round brushes approximately the same size, #8,#10. Teacher Bio:I am a professional educator having a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin. I have taught art both privately and in schools, and enjoy teaching and interacting with my students. I have been painting seriously for the past 25 years. I work in both acrylics and watercolors, painting landscapes, the ocean, flowers, and imaginative abstracts. My work is in private collections, and on the internet. I am a frequent participant in art fairs, including the Alameda Art and Wine Festival

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation & Refund Policy Frank Bette Class or Workshop Cancellation and Refund Policy The instructor has the option of cancelling a class or workshop that does not meet the required minimum of enrolled students three (3) days prior to the start date. All fees for cancellations may be refunded. Registered students must notify the Frank Bette Center at least five (5) full days prior to the start of a class or workshop to effectively cancel registration and be eligible for a full refund. To cancel, email classes@frankbettecenter.org and the class or workshop instructor or call the Center: 510-523-6957. Students cancelling no less than three (3) full days prior to the workshop may receive a credit for a future workshop upon approval of the instructor. Credits are valid for up to six (6) months from the date of issue. Fees for cancellations made after the class or workshop start date and no-shows are charged the full amount. No credits are issued. Frank Bette Center for the Arts reserves the right to cancel any class or workshop. Registrants are notified by phone or email and may receive a full refund or a credit towards future workshop by the same instructor.
