About the instructor: Carolyn Lord is a 1978 graduate of Principia College where she studied studio art, art and architectural history. She continued her arts education with watercolor and oil painting workshops and most recently, refining her drawing skills at Golden Gate Atelier in Oakland.

Carolyn Lord’s paintings are represented in California, Colorado, and Utah galleries, and she has participated in plein air events such as Sonoma Plein Air, Frank Bette Plein Air Paint Out, Mendocino Open Paint Out. Memberships include California Art Club, California Watercolor Association.

Title: Perspective Drawing ~ In Studio and Plein
Air: 3 Sessions

Dates: February 9, 16, 23 in 2025
Days & Time: Sundays, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm
Hour lunch break
Description: Gain the skills of perspective and the confidence to observe and draw buildings. In the studio, students learn and practice the vocabulary of perspective. Instruction includes drawing imaginary boxes, then real boxes in a still-life set-up. The workshop will also go into the neighborhood to draw the streets and houses near Frank Bette Center for the Arts. Strategies for composition, roofs, gables, and porches will be covered. Individual attention.
Fee: $450 Members; $475 Non-members
​Materials: All drawing materials included in
registration fee
Optional: Students are welcome to bring their own plein air equipment that they’re comfortable using such as easel, umbrella, stool.

Notes: All artistic levels welcome! Minimum registration required for workshop to proceed.
