Priyanka Gawande earned a master's degree in computer science before choosing to build her life around painting instead — an artist by choice, not circumstance. She holds an MFA in Painting from the prestigious Academy of Art University, San Francisco, CA, and has exhibited in numerous juried shows. Her work spans still life, landscape, and an ongoing series on weathered Americana, distinguished throughout by a rare control of reflective and weathered surfaces — chrome, glass, water, rust — rendered with a precision that rewards close, unhurried looking. Born in India, she now paints from the Bay Area.
