About the instructor: As a landscape painter, traveling is an important part of Fan’s creative work. She paints landscapes to show her appreciation for nature. Throughout her traveling journey and painting process, she is inspired and refreshed by recording the happiness and inspiration that life offers. Fan’s goal is to inspire through sharing her peaceful art and intuitive paintings, her stories of the art healing process, and to deliver messages that encourage people to show appreciation and gratitude for nature because we humans and nature are in harmony. One of her current main artwork series is The Traveling Series of Landscape Paintings. Fan is originally from Shanghai, China. She obtained a MSc in Management and

Instructor: Fan Lu Dates: Oct. 18, 25 & Nov. 1, 8, 15, 29 Day & Time: Weds., 10:00 am – 12:00 pm Description: The goal of the course is to paint to celebrate daily life and travel memories using mixed media including: graphite pencil, colored pencil, crayon, oil pastels, soft pastels, ink, pen, watercolor, gouache, acrylic, and collage. Learn to observe the cherished moments and live life to the fullest. We will apply the teaching method of inquiry-based teaching and learning, combining the studio habits of mind and visual thinking strategies. Schedule: Week 1 Intro to mixed-media & Artist’s inspiration; Week 2 Landscape; Week 3 Animal; Week 4 Cityscape; Week 5 Travel literature and Art; Week 6 Final Project Fee: $150 Members; $180 Non-members Materials: Download materials list here!
