Synopsis:
Tidewater is a feature-length documentary following two friends as they journey halfway around the world to participate in the Targa Tasmania car race. Along their journey they will meet other race teams from around the world also completing in Targa, all with one goal in mind: push their cars and themselves to the limit. While the race will be featured, the real story will be the relationship of our two racers, Martin and Chris. Martin Pond and Chris Seiwald have known each other for nearly 30 years. Martin has been working on cars since his 20’s and his passion for racing is strong. Chris is not a “car guy” but has always had a nose for adventure. While Martin is a planner, Chris tends to fly by the seat of his pants. With Martin as driver and Chris as navigator, they will travel to the other side of the world to see just how fast they can go. The Filmmakers: The Matarrese Bros are Phill & Joe Matarrese, twin filmmakers from the San Francisco Bay Area. After spending over 10 years working in the lighting department, they decided to start making movies of their own. They produced several short and feature-length films for various production companies before making their first feature, Searching for Fortune. Their love of travel and adventure sparked their interest in the Tidewater story and in following Martin and Chris along their journey. Tidewater fact sheet |
