Would you like an Amazing Pet Portrait?
Between now and January 25th, please donate $20 below and send an email to gallery@frankbettecenter.org with a photo of your pet. One of our amazing volunteer artists will do a portrait. You may get a work of art from an acclaimed artist or a drawing by a volunteer who flunked art in school, but it will be amazing and help animals and art flourish in Alameda. Proceeds will go to Frank Bette and Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter.
Paint a Pet for Paw Prints!
We are recruiting community volunteers to create “Amazing Pet Portraits” for members of the public who make a $20 donation and provide a photo of their pet. And the best part, you don’t need to be an amazing artist to volunteer!
Who may volunteer:
“Artists” need to be at least 12 years old and enjoy playing with pencils, pens, brushes and paint. No prior art training is required (or even preferred). Encourage your kids and friends to volunteer with you.
Process:
If you volunteer a pet photo (jpeg) may be sent to your email January 4-25th, 2021. Draw or paint the pet (9 x 11 or smaller please). Plain copy paper is fine for a drawing. Watercolor paper is preferred for acrylics, or watercolors (no oil paintings please). You may sign your work (or not). Mats are not necessary.
Drawings: Photograph your drawing and send it to Gallery@frankbettecenter.org as soon as you finish it but no later than February 25. We will print it on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of plain paper and mail it to the buyer.
Paintings: If you painted with acrylics or watercolor, you can mail the original work to the Frank Bette Center for the arts at 1601 Paru St, Alameda 94501. Or, you may drop off the painting(s) on weekends (Sat and Sun 11am-5pm) beginning January 16th and we will mail it to the buyer.
To Sign Up: Please send an email message with your name and the number of pet portraits you are willing to create to Gallery@frankbettecenter.org
