About the instructor: A San Francisco Bay Area native, Cathy received her Masters of Fine Art in painting from the Academy of Art University in 2015, graduating with honors. She continued her study at a bay area atelier learning 19th century techniques. She took advantage of COVID to paint weekly in plein air producing 6x8 starts in which to develop larger paintings. You will learn to sharpen skills of observation, and a method to simplify while working wet into wet to achieve a strong design and painterly result.
