About the instructor: A San Francisco Bay Area native, Cathy received her Masters of Fine Art in painting from the Academy of Art University in 2015, graduating with honors. She continued her study at a bay area atelier learning 19th century techniques. She took advantage of COVID to paint weekly in plein air producing 6x8 starts in which to develop larger paintings. Description: The workshop will focus on the practice of painting alla prima, (all in one sitting). You will learn to sharpen skills of observation, and a method to simplify while working wet into wet to achieve a strong design and painterly result.
