Electrical Rewire Project
Dear Donors,
On behalf of the Frank Bette Center for the Arts I wanted to thank you for your generous donation towards our Electrical Rewire project, Phase I. We began fundraising to raise money for this project in August 2017 and I am glad to report that the work for Phase One is complete! In the process of this project, we increased our upstairs electrical service to 100 amps (it had been 50 amps) with a new meter, new wiring, and a new breaker box which service new circuits and overhead lights in our 2 front upstairs rooms. New light fixtures were donated to us by Larry Heath of Enluma (our electrical contractor) and electrical inspection of the wiring passed with flying colors. To the right you will see some before and after photos of the project. We have completed Phase II, electrical rewire. This project will complete the rewire of the upstairs and tie all the power together. Then on to Phase III. |
Phase III (description from Lary at Enluma) The wiring and switching, for the stairwell. The lighting will be a small thin band of LEDs about a foot above the treads and risers, to really show off the art and poetry, on the entire staircase. This is the centerpiece of the climb to the rooms above. There will be a hanging light, at the base of the stairs. At the top landing, a "blue sky" of glass vasques. The walls of the stairwell will be finished in white, and open to hang your art. All the paint and prep, ceilings and walls, of same, are included.
Alameda permit charges are not included($1K), nor the cost of plumbing work, (should not be bad $2K?).
Price $15,600.oo ($6K down, and balance upon final) Thank you again for helping us complete the necessary repairs for the first phase of our electrical rewire project and helping us continue to maintain our 1898 Victoria building as a valuable community "place for meetings, readings, showings and other creative doings".
With much gratitude,
