Title: Dialogue Workshop: 5 Sessions
Instructor: Joe Graceffo Date: January 16, 23, 30 & February 6, 13 Day and Time: Tuesdays, 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm Description: Are you struggling to write dialogue? Are your characters speaking for you, or to each other? Are you using dialogue as a stand in for exposition or to describe action? Bottom line, does your dialogue sound natural or stilted? This workshop will take you through exercises that will help you hear the beats that propel natural speech forward, and cut out the extraneous other stuff that wants to filter in and bog it down. We’ll use Robert McKee’s book “Dialogue” to define exercise takeaways, and I’ll let you in on techniques I use when writing screenplays and audio dramas. Whatever medium calls for dialogue (screenplays, plays, narrative and poetry) this workshop is designed to help writers find a connection within themselves to listen to their characters, and write better dialogue. Fees per workshop: $149 Members; $160 Non-members Notes: Minimum registration required for the workshop to proceed. This class is intended for practicing writers that want to improve their dialogue skills. Open to 18 - 99 years of age. Other classes you may like:
