About the instructor: Art has always been a part of Colleen’s life paralleling her development as a person, through education, becoming an adult, raising children and her professional career. She has successfully merged them all somehow and has been addicted to education her entire life. She is honored to hold an MFA in painting from the Academy of Art in San Francisco. Now with a business degree, a graphic design degree and an MFA, Colleen has all the knowledge and motivation she needed to pursue her fine art practice and teach and inspire students from around the globe.

Title: Creative Cornucopia: 8 Sessions Online
Instructor: Colleen Gianatiempo Dates: Jan. 17, 24, 31; Feb. 7, 14, 21, 28 & Mar. 7 Time: Tuesdays, 1:45 pm-3:45 pm PST Online Only! Description: This art course is designed to provide students with a diverse and immersive artistic experience. This is mixed media with a twist on variety and learning how to incorporate design, color theory and composition into the mix! Throughout the course, students will work under the influence of many different mediums of art exploring a wide range of artistic styles, techniques, and mediums. This is a wet your palette paint-a-long style course in mixed media, watercolor, drawing, monoprinting, abstraction, pastels, color theory, composition and more! Each lesson will be packed with lessons in art principles and design and will have the opportunity to experiment with different artistic approaches and techniques in order to expand their artistic skills and knowledge. Students will learn how to use color effectively in their art, how to create cohesive compositions, and how to develop their own unique artistic style. They will also participate in critiques of their own work and the work of their peers, learning how to give and receive constructive feedback in a supportive and collaborative environment. It is suitable for both beginner and more experienced artists, and will provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to create dynamic and expressive works of art.
