Alameda Island Poets Workshop

Picture
Cathy Dana
Cathy Dana, Alameda Poet Laureate and  president of Alameda Island Poets, sees the power of poetry as an invitation out of daily grind mind into a place where the mundane and the mystical meet and make magic.  She has won numerous poetry awards, including 1st prize at the 2013 Benicia Love Poetry Contest and Grand Prize at 2014 Dancing Poetry Festival. The title of her second prize poem, My Dad Believed in Love, became the title for her first book of poetry, 2016, by Sugartown Publishing.  Learn more about Cathy by visiting her website at CathyDana.com.
