Ukulele Classes: for Beginners ~ Not For Absolute Beginners: 6 Sessions
Janet Lenore was teaching guitar classes before she finished high school, picking up mandolin and banjo along the way. She caught the "ukulele bug" about 10 years ago and loves sharing the joy of playing with others. Janet infuses her teaching with a relaxed sense of humor and she comes from a family of teachers. Janet knows how to break down the components of a song, strum and the things a musician is busy doing - all at once!
Janet also leads an acoustic jam on the
3rd Wednesday of the month. We pass the hat!
Title: Ukulele Classes for Beginners:~ Not For Absolute Beginners - 6 Sessions
Instructor: Janet Lenore
Dates: April 10, 17, 24 and May 8, 15, 22
Day & Time: Mondays
6:30 pm -7:45 pm
Description: Did you make a resolution to learn how to play that new ukulele you just got at the holidays? Janet will introduce you to the ukulele from the very beginning, starting with how to hold and tune the instrument. There is something about posture and hand position that Janet addresses right away so that the budding ukulele enthusiast (you, perhaps?) does not start building “bad habits." While you can learn many things from books, workshops and online videos, there are some things that a teacher can tell you because you are working together in a small group. We soon get started with a couple of easy chords, a song that “ everybody knows” and a simple strum and soon you are on your way to playing!
Fees: $125 Members; $135 Non-members
