Frank Bette Center for the Arts relies on private individuals and business for 40% of our operating funds.

We need that 40% to keep our gallery running, continue to reach out and deliver programs to our high school students and to continue to provide quality support to the arts community in Alameda.

60% of our operating costs are supported by memberships, classes, and art sales—that’s 20% more than most non-profit art associations. (how to use PayPal)

Frank Bette Center attracts artists to Alameda

Fulfilling our mission means exhibiting quality art work coming from unknown and well known artists alike. It means hosting poetry readings, writing groups, conversational lectures, playwrights and songwriters. It means mentoring in craft and career. It means nurturing the creative urge to join a broad arts community In this past year alone, membership at Frank Bette Center for the Arts grew 21%.

With your help and support, we continue to put on twelve group shows in our gallery and five one person shows each year. For the past four years we have hosted the annual Plein Air Paintout. Last spring, we held our third annual Alameda On Camera ─ for teens and adults.

In addition to all this, we offer over a dozen multiple disciplinary arts classes, and numerous literary arts programs.

This coming year, in addition to continuing with our established annual events, we hope to continue to grow our membership by 20% and to establish an arts review board and mentoring panel. As a non-profit, our programs are about changing lives.

Changing lives through supporting creativity in our community, one person at a time, is our goal.
