2008 "Jewel by the Bay Poetry Contest"
Held in conjunction with the Frank Bette Center for the Arts Plein Air Paintout ● July 15 - 19
Poems do not have to be about Alameda but Alameda must be a significant element in the poem. Poems should not exceed 40 lines. Winning poem will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on Saturday July 19 in Jackson Park, alameda at 3 pm followed by an open mic.
Winner will receive $100 and their poem will be on display in August art show at Frank Bette Center galley.
Contest Judge: Al Young, Poet Laureate of California
Submit no more that three poems, Submit 2 copies of each poem. One copy unsigned, the other should include your name, address, phone number and email address. Enclose a self addressed stamped envelope for the notification of contest results.
