Alameda Island Poets presents  First Wednesday  every month at the Alameda Free Library. The event is coordinated by Alameda's Poet Laureate, Mary Rudge. 7 - 9 pm.

Frank Bette Center for the Arts hosts ongoing prose and poetry readings, storytelling swaps and writing programs, as well as many special programs and annual literary fine art events. We stock small press books by our featured readers and other Bay Area authors.


Frank Bette Center for the Arts is an inviting and inspiring place to learn, create and appreciate the fine arts in Alameda. Our historic Victorian includes beautiful fine art galleries, artist studios and attractive space for art programs.  The heart of the artistic presentation is our showcase gallery and our schedule of exciting exhibits.
