Teen Writing Workshop

Materials: Writing materials (paper, pens); ability to contact other students through email. Note: Ages 13 - 16

Class Description: In this 5-session class, we'll help each other improve our short fiction by engaging in a neutral workshop. As a participant, you'll practice critically reading others' work, hear honest feedback about how others are interpreting your work, and finally, improve your ability to read your own work which will help you sync what is on the page to what is in your head.

About the Instructor: Sara Adams recently graduated from the University of Redlands with an interdisciplinary degree called Education and Language: Arts. She has taught middle and high school English, including creative writing, and has worked with students on newspapers and literary publications. Currently, she's teaching at a Montessori school in San Francisco and revising a novel that won a fiction contest at her university. She had many amazing creative writing professors at Redlands, and is excited to share their effective workshop techniques with young writers.
