Poets - Painters

Materials: Supplied by instructor
Notes: Field trip to an art museum will be scheduled first class meeting Writers and artists are invited

Class Description: Poets have long been inspired to respond to great works of art and have sometimes taken on the role of art critic, while painters have many times turned to poetry and the lives of poets as subjects in their art. This class explores how these two arts cross-fertilize, including how techniques from one art can inform the other. One muse, many paths.

About the Instructor: Jannie M. Dresser is the founder and publisher of the Bay Area Poets Seasonal Review, San Francisco Poetry Examiner at examiner.com, and has taught poetry and creative writing in California and in Mexico for over 20 years. She also draws, does collage work, and is active in the international Artist-Trading-Cards movement. She holds an MFA from Mills College.
