About the Instructor: Denys Adida, both a performing and visual artist, began her career as a puppeteer/storyteller. It allowed for exploration of many art forms, materials, design and construction and on to discovering children’s literature, illustration and pop-up books. Eventually, Denys settled on paper and fibers as her favorite material, occasionally combining them with ceramic and glass. Puppetry paved the way for working with children and Denys worked as a teaching artist, arts education specialist/consultant and eventually a credentialed elementary teacher. Her current investigations are indigenous and shamanistic art and using intention in art making.
