About the instructor: Yara Damian received her Bachelor in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid in Spain. She has enjoyed several grants in residence from private and public art foundations. Her most important awards include the 1st place XVIII National Painting Award Enrique Lite (La Laguna University in Spain 2014), and 2nd place in the Expressionism-Figure Category of the American Arts Awards (USA, 2014). Yara has participated in many individual and group exhibitions in Spain, England and the US. She also will be teaching in Seattle, WA and Tuscany this year. Day & Time: Thursday – Sunday, 10:00am – 4:00 pm
Description: Have you ever found it difficult to translate the huge amount of information from the landscape? We will learn to discriminate and to tidy up the composition on the canvas, how to see in a different way and begin from drawing sketches. I will propose some different exercises to improve on how to represent light sensations, hues and contrasts; the importance of the rhythm of the painting brushstrokes; and different surfaces options (canvas/panel). This workshop will give you important tips to face up to the nature in your outdoor sessions. Individual instruction and some talks in group. Join us!

Notes: Minimum registration required for workshop to proceed. Open to all artistic levels and ages. Bring lunch.
