| (previous / next) Janet Butler I began painting in 1996, when an art gallery opened on the ground floor of the condo I was living in in Perugia, Italy, and the gallery owner had the excellent idea of inviting local artists for weekend workshops. After six months I moved on to a live drawing class, and after the first year began exhibiting with local artists in Umbria. I was helped by the art critic, Luciano Lepri, who invited me to participate in many of the art exhibits he organized. Under his auspices, I showed in group exhibits in Sienna, Rome, Perugia, and many of the smaller cities in the region. I also exhibited regularly at the Minvra Gallery, Perugia. I have tried various mediums, but always return to my true love, watercolors. Since returning to the US in 2005, I have participated in the EBOS, exhibited in A Different Day Gallery in Albany, and the Frank Bette Center. visit Janet Butler website For more information on this artist please call
