| (previous / next) Carol Tarzier I’m a figurative artist, in sculpture and painting. I love both figurative and abstract work, and feel that the best work incorporates both. I’ve recently returned to my first love - oil painting, and specifically plein air and working directly from the still life or model. This is intoxicating, perhaps because I’ve worked indoors on sculpture for many years. I love the immediacy of working en plein air; over the last year I’ve have put together shows of small oil paintings or pochades, in which my goal is to capture fleeting light and color outdoors. I also love still life, and florals invite the painter to work with color and chiaroscuro, and explore the light on forms. I enjoy teaching painting and working with students on developing perceptions of light and color. Visit Carol Tarzier website.
